Bonnie King has never seen anything like this in her more than two decades promoting the local film industry.
She has received more than 1,000 phone calls and e-mails from people interested in working as acting extras or crew on the sci-fi action movie “Transformers 3.” The film is scheduled for shooting at the Kennedy Space Center during a 12-day period, tentatively starting Sept. 17.
Details for interviews to apply for the temporary positions haven’t been released yet. But King said people have been contacting her ever since a FLORIDA TODAY news story published May 13 revealed plans for the local filming at KSC.
Among those looking to land an extra role on the film is 19-year-old Orlando actress Croix Provence, an incoming junior at the University of Central Florida.
“Who wouldn’t want to be part of that action” on the set of “Transformers 3,” said Provence, who has had roles in independent films, in theater productions and on commercials. “It’s a project
that everybody loves. I’ll be the first in line” to apply.
She said being on the set to observe the workings of a major production like “Transformers 3” is invaluable experience for an actor.
Many others apparently feel the same way.
“I get so many e-mails every day” from people looking for work on the project, said King, who is Space Coast film commissioner and is working with the “Transformers 3” crew. The word spread after the initial news story, with King receiving e-mails and calls from as far away as California.
That includes not only acting extra candidates, but also makeup artists, costume designers, set designers, lighting technicians, production assistants, writers and producers. “Transformers” is not likely to be looking for producers and writers at this point, King said, but the contacts enable her to update her database of local talent for future projects.
KSC is the only confirmed local venue for shooting, King said. Additional Brevard County locations were scouted for the film, but King said the film’s crew has not committed to any of them.
King has estimated that the filming could bring $1 million to $2 million to the local economy. The publicity of having such a big film project shot here also could help attract other feature films to the area, she said.
The first two films in the “Transformers” series — which were not shot locally — were blockbusters, each exceeding $700 million in worldwide ticket sales.
The third installment, now filming in Chicago, stars Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, John Malkovich and Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who replaced Megan Fox in the film.
The Michael Bay film, due out next July, will be the biggest film partially shot in Brevard County in more than a decade. He previously shot scenes from his 1998 movie “Armageddon” at KSC.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Gets Down and Dirty on Transformers 3 set
Acting can be dirty work, just ask Transformers 3 star Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley.
The model-turned actress was seen lying on a pile of rubble on the Chicago set of the new film yesterday.
Wearing a white hoodie and skinny grey jeans, the 23-year-old star looked rather dishevelled on the set which resembled a disaster scene.
And her co-star Shia LaBeouf, 24, also looked like he had got into a few scrapes, with his face cut and smeared with dirt.
Little has been revealed about the plot, although director Michael Bay has said that the Chicago footage will be featured at the end of the film.

Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's Romance Rumor Is 'Fabricated'
Shia's rep has dismissed report that the actor has fallen for his 'Transformers 3' co-star while continuing to date girlfriend Carey Mulligan, insisting the story is 'completely fabricated.'
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Shia LaBeouf
A rep for Shia LaBeouf has angrily shot down report that the 24-year-old actor has fallen for Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, his co-star in "Transformers 3". The rep hit back at the rumor, telling Gossip Cop the story is "completely fabricated".
Shia and Rosie's romance rumor was first reported by National Enquirer. The America's tabloid claimed the two stars, who have started filming the third installment of the sci-fi movie, recently enjoyed a cozy dinner although Shia is still in relationship with girlfriend Carey Mulligan. The "I, Robot" actor was further reported sending the sexy model-turned-actress flowers following the dinner date.
According to the tabloid, both Shia and Rosie's lovers were apparently aware of the situation. Shia's "on-set crush has landed him in hot water with Rosie's beau, actor Jason Statham," while Shia's girlfriend Carey "isn't thrilled, either" and was described as "livid". Jason, in the meantime, "warned Shia: 'No more off-set meetings - or else!' ", and Shia was said "getting wise and backing off Rosie."
While Shia and Rosie's off-screen crush story is "completely fabricated," the two stars, however, will be seen falling for each other on the forthcoming movie. Rosie plays Shia's love interest, replacing Megan Fox who quit the franchise back in May. Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson will still be seen in the project, while John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Ken Jeong become the newcomers.

Megan Fox irked 'Transformers 3' replacement called next 'It' girl
Word has it, Megan Fox is really bugged that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley -- who replaced her as Shia LaBeouf's love interest for ''Transformers 3'' -- is expected to be the next ''It'' girl.
Folks close to Fox claim the actress is irked about all the positive press Huntington-Whiteley is getting -- including long-term plans for magazine covers featuring the Victoria's Secret model tied to the July 4, 2011, release of ''TF3.''
A source in Fox's camp whispers, ''Megan talks about Rosie all the time -- bitching about how 'that Victoria's Secret slut' is getting so much attention.''
As for the ''Transformers'' team, crew members say they're thrilled Rosie replaced Megan in the new movie.
While words like ''diva'' (and worse) were used to describe their experiences with Fox, crew types called Huntington-Whiteley ''a real doll,'' ''a sweetie'' and ''a joy to work with

Shia and Rosie Tranform Their Relationship With Hot Chemistry in Transformers 3
The chaos continued along Michigan Avenue in Chicago yesterday as Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley filmed Transformers 3. Earlier this week, it was Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson who joined Shia to do stunts on set. Rosie won't be taking over Megan Fox's role of Mikaela Banes — Rosie's instead playing Carly, which is the name of Shia's character's eventual wife in the series on which the movies are based. Things are apparently going well with Rosie's addition to the cast, and a producer recently spoke about her great chemistry with Shia. As Rosie focuses on her movie career, her Victoria's Secret pal Alessandra Ambrossio is hold down the bikini fort with a sexy catalog shoot in St. Bart's.

Transformers 3 Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura: Replacing Megan Fox Was a Risk
We've seen a few pics from the set of Transformers 3 of Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox Rosie Huntington-Whiteley filming together, and must 'fess, even though Megan "never" would have come back for a third movie, we've been missing the big-mouthed brunette. We heart her! Especially Fox and Shia together (platonically of course, since Meg's a married woman now).
So is the new Megan Fox holding her own with the veteran crew? And what's the heat level like between Rosie and Shia? Here's scoop straight from the Transformers 3 set about Michael Bay's casting gamble:
We talked with Transformers 3 producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura earlier this week and got him to break it down: Is the Victoria's Secret model simply filling the hot-girl quota needed in a blockbuster franchise? "Well, Rosie is pretty hot," laughed Lorenzo. "But she's been great. She has a fantastic attitude, and she's been having a lot of fun."
Translation: Megan's ‘tude wasn't so hot. Hmmm. We tried to get deets on what character, exactly, Whiteley will actually be playing. Even though she "replaced" Fox, we've heard she hasn't actually replaced Megan's character Mikaela Banes.
"Rosie will definitely be [Shia's] love interest though," dished the famed producer. Well, we saw that coming a million pouty-lipped miles away, but how is LaBeouf taking a liking to the new chick on set?
"You know what? Their chemistry is proving to work out. You never really know. That's the biggest risk," Lorenze ‘fessed about the decision to replace Shia's good pal. "Megan and Shia had very good chemistry. Fortunately for us, these two have good chemistry.
"It's a larger cast in general," the producer added about what positive changes to expect. "We've got [John] Malkovich, Patrick Dempsey...So what's happened is the shape of the movie has changed because of all the new people."
Gotchya, code for "the movie will still be good without Megan Fox dammit!" Some would probably debate better! Just can't decide if the model decision will be for the best. But we'll hold our judgment until next year.

'Transformers 3' takes over Milwaukee Art Museum
Dozens of spectators lined the perimeter of the Milwaukee Art Museum to catch a glimpse of the filming of "Transformers 3."
Spectators were allowed to stand outside the gated and taped-off areas, including spots in front of the bridge to the art museum, in the alcove on top of the Milwaukee County Parks office, and along the bridge by the Milwaukee County War Memorial Center.
Those who came, some with binoculars, were rewarded with the chance to watch Shia LaBeouf and newcomer Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (replacing Megan Fox as LaBeouf's love interest) film a scene in which the two exit the front doors of the museum, cross the steps and climb into a yellow car with black accents - most likely Bumblebee, a Transformer who befriended LaBeouf's character in the first "Transformers" movie.
Although visibility was minimal - it was a closed set - those who were present were excited to see a film getting made in their home state.
"I think it's a good opportunity just to be able to see any part of it," said Paul Pakulski of West Allis. Pakulski was wearing a shirt with a symbol of the Decepticons, the bad-guy 'bots in the series. His 4-year-old son, Matthew, wore a shirt with the symbol for the Autobots, the good guys.
Director Michael Bay also was seen on the set, in all-white clothing and sneakers. Extras, who were cast a couple of weeks ago, occupied the background scenery. Most of the extras were dressed in black.
"I've never actually been to see any of the actors when they come down here . . . So I'm really excited," said Trina Muniz, 15. Muniz, along with her mother and brother, came from Racine just for the occasion.
"Unreal," Pakulski said while watching LaBeouf and Huntington-Whiteley in action.
"It's my favorite movie," he added.
Filming on "Transformers 3" is expected to continue at the art museum Tuesday. The producers of the movie also have announced plans to shoot at the former Tower Automotive site on the city's north side, but that filming has been pushed back to sometime in August.

Transformers 3 co-star Tyrese Gibson Tweeted Rosie Huntington-Whiteley 'She's a sweet one!'
The new star in the Transformers Movie Series Rosie Huntington-Whiteley gets to know co-stars on wreckage-strewn set of Transformers 3. Tyrese Gibson posted a picture of him with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on his Twitter account on the set of Transformers 3.
It must be daunting joining a film franchise as successful as Transformers.
But Rosie Huntington-Whiteley seems to be settling in well - judging by the picture co-star Tyrese Gibson posted on his Twitter page.
Tyrese, who plays Robert Epps in the upcoming Transformers 3, tweeted fans: 'Me & Rosie working hard!! She's a sweet one!!'
British lingerie model Rosie was signed up to star in what is thought to be the final installment in the film series after Megan Fox decided to opt out of the third movie.
And while the 23-year-old star is proving a success among her co-stars, producer Lorenzo de Bonaventura said her arrival, and Megan's departure, on the franchise did cause some problems.
He said: 'Definitely some script changes for sure. I wouldn't say a tremendous number, but absolutely there were some changes.
'And I think as we're going along, we're discovering new ones we have to make as a result of them.'
Rosie will star alongside Shia LaBeouf, who will reprise his role as lead character Sam Witwicky, in Transformers 3, due for release in 2011.

Transformers movie filming delayed in Milwaukee
Parts of the upcoming Transformers 3 movie are being shot in Milwaukee over the next couple weeks, but one of the locations will be delayed. The Milwaukee Public Museum and the Tower Automotive plant have been tagged as locations for the movie, and as a result brought hundreds of Milwaukee hopefuls who lined up for a chance to be an extra in the film. Scenes from Tower will be delayed until August as representatives from the city are still negotiating the details with the production company for that particular location because of possible pyrotechnics.
Stars of Transformers 3 to Be in Milwaukee
About 150 people related to the movie (producers, actors, and even director Michael Bay) will be on hand starting next week, July 12th, to help film the Museum scenes. The scenes will include dialogue (as opposed to be something related to "B" roll for background) and will reportedly include the movie's principal actors, which include Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Ehren Kruger has written the screenplay for the movie. Kruger has also penned previous Transformers movie in addition to The Skeleton Key, The Ring and The Ring Two, and Scream 3, among other movies. The movie will be released July 2011.

Shia LaBeouf Seen With Megan Fox Replacement Rosie Huntington-Whiteley On Transformers 3 Set
Pairing up for another day of work duties, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Shia LaBeouf were spotted on the set of "Transformers 3" in Los Angeles, California on Friday (July 2).
Both dressed up in their finest garb, the new co-stars were given instructions from director Michael Bay as they ran through the scheduled scenes.
Doing quite well for himself outside of "Transformers," recent reports tell that Shia has been offered a role in screenwriter Peter Morgan's planned project called "Riptide".
With Brad Pitt also asked to partake in the whodunnit flick, LaBeouf will be playing a young broker if he accepts the job offer.
In related news, Michael Bay revealed on his blog that Transformers 3 will be shooting in a lot of different locations around the world.

Summit Hopes Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf to Star in the movie RIPTIDE, a Seafaring Whoduni film by Peter Morgan
With two Oscar nominations in recent years for his Frost/Nixon and The Queen screenplays, I’m sure Peter Morgan’s quote is on the rise. But that hasn’t stopped wise studios from seeking his services, however: Summit hired Morgan to rewrite Richard McBrien’s script for Riptide, a “whodunit” set on the high seas. The studio was confident enough in said screenplay to present it to Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf, coupled with an offer to star.
“It’s about a handyman, a young stock broker, and the stock broker’s girlfriend. One of the men is found dead floating in the sea. The girlfriend is found at a nearby hotel. An investigator is called in to figure out what happened and why.”
The talks are in early stages, and there’s no guarantee that Pitt and LaBeouf will accept their offers. But it would be an interesting (and very marketable) pairing, to be sure. I would think that Summit is looking at Pitt for the investigator role, while LaBeouf is prepped to portray a young stock broker after his Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps gig. Of course, I don’t want to be the one to rule out the possibility that either could be a very pretty handyman.
In addition to Riptide, Morgan has a bevy of scripts coming down the pipeline that hint at greatness. Once MGM is no longer in shambles, his James Bond screenplay must be a top priority. Morgan will form a powerful triumvirate with Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon in Hereafter (in theaters October 22nd). And most recently, City of God director Fernando Meirelles signed on to helm Morgan’s adaptation of the 1900 Arthur Schnitzler play La Ronde.

Megan Fox Married long-term boyfriend Brian Austin Green Confirmed
Transformers star Megan Fox Married long-term boyfriend the Beverly Hills 90210 actor Brian Austin Green.
Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green tied the knot in a small service at the Four Season's Resort on the tropical island of Hawaii last thursday.
A source told Star magazine US: "They had a fairly large wedding, but there were clearly more security people than guests... "
Kassius, the 8-year old son of Brian Austin Green from a previous relationship was present at the ceremony.
A source told Star magazine US: "They had a fairly large wedding, but there were clearly more security people than guests... "
